Are You a Good Candidate for Breast Lift Surgery?
By Dennis Hurwitz on July 24, 2015
The phrase “here today, gone tomorrow” could apply to virtually any area of the human body, but none so fittingly as the breasts. A woman enters into her adult years with her breasts uniquely her own; she knows exactly how the nipples project, how they lie when she reclines, and how to make them “pop” when she wants to show them off. Then, in the seeming blink of an eye, something happens. Clinically, it’s called ptosis. We know it as drooping.
Fortunately, plastic surgery offers a potentially ideal solution in the form of breast lift. Breast lift offers women who are experiencing breast ptosis the chance to restore their breasts to their former youthful glory. Indeed, many women who undergo breast lift surgery emerge from the procedure with sexier, more feminine contours than they had ever had in their lives. This is especially possible when patients entrust their figures to a plastic surgeon with the experience, skill, and keen artistic eye of Dr. Dennis Hurwitz of the Hurwitz Center for Plastic Surgery.
However, even a safe, potentially life-changing procedure such as breast lift surgery isn’t necessarily right for everybody. Dr. Hurwitz carefully evaluates patients to ensure that they are suitable breast lift candidates during consultations at his Pittsburgh practice before allowing them to proceed with surgery. This screening process is necessary to protecting the safety of patients, in addition to making sure that patients are satisfied with their results.
Are you a good candidate for breast lift surgery? The only way to find out for sure is to meet with Dr. Hurwitz for a private, one-on-one consultation at his state-of-the-art plastic surgery center at your earliest convenience. Schedule your consultation today.
Are you a good candidate for breast lift surgery?
Part of determining your candidacy for breast lift surgery involves evaluating your needs and identifying your treatment goals. There are several techniques for performing breast lift surgery, and it is essential to match you with the technique most likely to produce the best results in your case. Indeed, it is possible that you may be a good candidate for certain techniques, but not a good candidate for others.
Once you and Dr. Hurwitz have decided upon a breast lift technique, you and he will discuss your expectations of the procedure. Your satisfaction with your results will depend heavily on your having appropriate and realistic expectations. For instance, you should expect to experience some scarring, even with the most minimally invasive techniques; to expect otherwise would be unrealistic.
In general, to undergo breast lift surgery, you must:
- Be in good enough health to undergo a major surgical procedure, which breast lift surgery most definitely is.
- Be experiencing some degree of ptosis (drooping or sagging of the breasts).
- Be at or near the optimal weight for your height.
- Be willing to follow all pre- and post-surgical instructions provided to you by Dr. Hurwitz to the letter.
