FaceTite, an Advanced Alternative to Facelift Surgery
Facial rejuvenation is highly sought after by many of our patients. To meet their diverse needs, Dr. Dennis Hurwitz provides traditional procedures while always staying abreast of the latest technology and advances made in facial plastic surgery. FaceTite, an increasingly popular alternative to facelift surgery, offers several advantages. In addition to being a minimally invasive procedure that can often be performed without scarring, it is typically more cost-effective and has a notably shorter recovery time. The Hurwitz Center for Plastic Surgery in Pittsburgh, PA, has been providing patients with outstanding results and innovate solutions for over 40 years and is one of the few establishments that can safely administer FaceTite. *
What is FaceTite?
FaceTite can improve deep lines and loose skin on the face and neck using strategically applied radio-frequency energy. As an effective substitute for a traditional facelift, this treatment can provide dramatic results.*
Dr. Hurwitz provides traditional procedures while always staying abreast of the latest technology and advances made in facial plastic surgery.
Typically used to target the lower face and neck, FaceTite can improve the appearance of:
- Deep wrinkles
- Double chin
- Loose skin on the neck
This procedure is typically most effective for patients with moderately loose skin, and it is not recommended for younger patients with mild signs of aging. For those who wish to target portions within the upper face, a combination of surgical procedures may be necessary for some patients. Dr. Hurwitz can discuss your goals and evaluate potential treatment areas to determine if this is the most appropriate option for you.*
Benefits of Minimally Invasive Treatment
Some of the benefits of undergoing a FaceTite procedure include:
- No scarring
- Quick treatment
- Reduced swelling
- Minimal discomfort
- Shorter recovery
In comparison to other alternatives to facelift surgery and high-end fractional CO2 laser treatments, FaceTite is also fairly low risk. In many cases, the procedure can cost patients 50 to 75 percent less than a traditional face or neck lift.*
The Treatment Process
Prior to the procedure, oral conscious sedation will be combined with a local anesthetic to ensure you are comfortable. Dr. Hurwitz will gently deliver radio-frequency energy using a delicate handheld device. This tool consists of an electrode that sits on top of the skin and cannula that is inserted beneath the skin through a tiny incision. He can then glide the device back and forth across the treatment area to evenly distribute the thermal energy. During the procedure, controlled heat will cause contractions through multiple layers of the skin, tissues, and deeper fat deposits. This will effectively melt excess fat and tighten the skin in as little as 15 minutes.
Recovery and Aftercare
Immediately following your procedure, you will be provided with a compression garment that can aid in your recovery and protect the treatment area. While you may experience some discomfort, it should be easily managed with over-the-counter medications. Minimal bruising or numbness can also occur but this should dissipate within a few days. Patients can typically return to regular daily activities within two to ten days of their treatment. However, any strenuous exercise or movements should be avoided until cleared by the doctor.
While some patients begin to see results as soon as six weeks, your final results may not be completely evident until 12 weeks following treatment. Depending on your unique needs, results may vary from mild to dramatic and can be achieved in as little as one FaceTite procedure.*
