1. We will combine oral conscious sedation with a local anesthetic to ensure you are numb and comfortable throughout your procedure.
2. We will gently deliver radiofrequency energy using a delicate handheld device. This handpiece consists of an receiving disc electrode that sits on top of the skin and an energy emitting cannula which is inserted beneath the skin through a tiny incision.
3. We will move the device back and forth across the treatment area to evenly distribute the thermal energy.
4. Controlled heat will safely cause contractions through multiple layers of skin, tissues, and deeper fat deposits.
5. Over heating of fat and nerves can cause small nodules and temporary facial numbness and/or muscle weakness
6. After applying energy, some patients are candidates for suture suspension of their neck muscle bands or prominent under jawline glands.
