Alleviate Vaginal Discomfort
FemTouch™ is a revolutionary vaginal rejuvenation system from Lumenis® which can transform your vaginal health in as little as one out-patient session. Using advanced CO2 laser technology, FemTouch can address a range of conditions, including vaginal itch, burning, bleeding, and pain.
At Hurwitz Center for Plastic Surgery in Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Dennis Hurwitz can use FemTouch vaginal rejuvenation to address a variety of feminine issues and improve your vaginal health. We offer this treatment for patients throughout their life, from patients as young as 20 to those in their 70s and 80s.
How It Works
The Lumenis FemTouch is a non-surgical, non-hormonal treatment that uses CO2 laser technology to address a range of vaginal health conditions. This non-invasive, painless laser applies gentle, controlled ablation to trigger coagulation of the vaginal lining. This process then encourages collagen production to promote the growth of new vaginal tissue. The sterilized applicator is uniquely formed to apply 360 degree coverage.
Am I a Candidate for FemTouch?
We most often recommend FemTouch to women who are premenopausal, menopausal, or postmenopausal. However, Dr. Hurwitz can use FemTouch for women from 20 to 80 years old. The procedure can eliminate a number of uncomfortable symptoms, such as:
- Decreased vaginal lubrication
- Unusual bleeding
- Urinary incontinence
While these problems are especially common during menopause or after childbirth, women of all ages may start to notice changes in their vaginal health that affect their quality of life.
However, the treatment is not appropriate for every patient. If you have experienced a serious condition, such as uterine or bladder prolapse, it is important to consult your gynecologist before considering FemTouch. We typically recommend patients undergo a pelvic exam and a pap smear with their physician prior to undergoing the procedure.
What to Expect during Treatment
A FemTouch procedure uses a Lumenis CO2 laser to apply gentle energy pulses to the inner walls of the vagina. During the procedure, Dr. Hurwitz will insert a intravaginal handpiece, which can cause some minor discomfort. In addition, some patients report a minor heating sensation or a vibration during the procedure. However, overall this treatment is fast and easy, typically taking two to five minutes to complete.
Most patients see positive improvement after a single appointment.
No Downtime, No Side Effects
FemTouch requires no real downtime and patients rarely experience any side effects after treatment. However, for the first 72 hours, you should avoid sexual activity. We also recommend keeping the area moist for a week after treatment, so we may prescribe you a hydrating gel to use during this time.
Most patients see positive improvement after a single appointment. However, the best results are typically achieved with two to four sessions. We advise a four to six week interval between the procedures. In many cases, patients experience a significant relief of their symptoms about four to six months after FemTouch treatment. In some cases, you may need maintenance after about 12 to 18 months.
How Much Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Cost?
If you are interested in improving your vaginal health, we can provide you with more information about vaginal rejuvenation cost during a consultation with Dr. Hurwitz. A single treatment with the FemTouch system typically costs $700. We also offer a special bundle deal for patients receiving multiple treatments.
With any medical treatment, costs can vary for many reasons. The geographical location of an office and the experience level of your physician can influence the final price of any given procedure. For FemTouch in particular, factors such as the symptoms that need treatment and the number of sessions can also contribute to the cost.
The Reason for Treatment
A FemTouch treatment is intended to stimulate collagen production to promote new vaginal tissue growth. This process can provide significant relief for a range of feminine issues, including dryness, itching, and decreased vaginal lubrication. In some cases, the laser system can treat more severe conditions, such as uterine or bladder prolapse. However, these more advanced concerns may require specialized treatment methods and involve a more substantial investment.
Number of Sessions
Many patients experience such significant improvement after a single FemTouch session that Dr. Hurwitz will not recommend further treatments. On average, however, achieving your desired results will require two to four sessions.
If you elect to undergo three FemTouch sessions, we can offer all three treatments for only $1,800.
At the Hurwitz Center for Plastic Surgery, we offer a special deal for patients who receive multiple FemTouch treatments with us. If you elect to undergo three sessions, we can offer all three treatments for only $1,800. Some patients will require a maintenance procedure to enhance their results about 12 to 18 months after finishing treatment.
Why Choose the Hurwitz Center
Dr. Hurwitz has provided safe, effective plastic surgery and non-surgical treatments since 1977. He is recognized by his peers as one of America’s Top Physicians for specialist referrals. With his experience in the field and his compassion for every single patient, you can rest assured that you are in good hands when you elect to undergo treatment for your feminine symptoms.
Financing and Insurance
Since vaginal rejuvenation is often an elective procedure, insurance rarely covers it. However, if you have serious health concerns, such as prolapse or urinary incontinence, your insurance provider may cover a portion of your treatment. We recommend contacting your company before beginning treatment to discuss your options.
For patients concerned about out-of-pocket expenses, we accept third-party financing from CareCredit®. With many low and no interest plans available, we strive to make the treatment you need more accessible.
A treatment with FemTouch can provide relief of feminine symptoms and rejuvenate your vaginal health. For more information about costs or to make an appointment with our office, contact us online or call (866) 957-4456.
