VASERshape™:
A Non-invasive Treatment for Cellulite

Vasershape logoIf you are looking to reduce small contour bulges and problem areas without surgery, VASERshape™ is a non-invasive alternative to traditional body contouring proceduresDr. Dennis Hurwitz offers convenient and innovative VASERshape™ at his Pittsburgh, PA, practice.

This treatment combines VASER® (vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance) ultrasound technology, gentle heat, and massage therapy to smooth and firm targeted areas. Unlike other procedures that similarly target cellulite to contour trouble spots, VASERshape™ is non-surgical and leaves patients with little to no recovery time. It also can be combined with surgical contouring procedures to reduce postoperative swelling and provide optimal results. To learn more, contact the Hurwitz Center for Plastic Surgery today.*

How VASERshape™ Works

VASERshape™ is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved system, which uses two hand-held units to combine ultrasound technology and zonal massage. The first device sends low-frequency ultrasound energy below the skin’s surface in a double beam. The beams reach the layer of fatty tissue directly underneath the skin. This results in a micro massage effect and warms the connective tissues holding the fat cells together, breaking them apart. The second device delivers a strategic massage to clear away unwanted fat. Together, the ultrasound energy and massage can smooth the body’s shape while diminishing the presence of cellulite - all without incisions.*

The VASERshape™ Process

First, Dr. Hurwitz will use the vacuum-assisted massage device to target lymph nodes in multiple locations. This step will open the lymph nodes to later process the fat released during the procedure.

For the ultrasound portion of VASERshape™ therapy, Dr. Hurwitz will use a special hand piece to precisely deliver thermal energy to to the treatment area. He will follow the curves of your body, focusing on tissue at a certain depth below the skin. You can expect to feel a warming sensation on your skin, which many patients compare to a hot stone massage.

The zonal massage is then used to stimulate the lymphatic system to remove excess fat and toxins released during the ultrasound portion of the procedure. The massage hand piece gently lifts and folds the skin, increasing circulation in the treatment area. This increased blood flow promotes healing and reduces swelling.

VASERshape™ easily fits into your busy schedule. Because the procedure is non-invasive, you will have little to no pain and may resume normal activities right away.
