Dennis J. Hurwitz, M.D., Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, announces the installation fo the first Portrait 3D-Breast for simulation of Breast Augmentation surgery in Pennsylvania. This state fo the art imager can accurately simulate the results fo Breast Augmentation surgery for his patients. At the Hurwitz Center in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, the guess work is taken out of estimating the size and shape of breasts after implant augmentation. The first patients to experience this aid in consultation were thrilled to preview their results of surgery, which enabled them to select their implant size, style and position. Axis Three, the leader and pioneer of surgical simulation tools for the cosmetic surgery industry, today announced the general availability of the Portrait 3D - Breast, the world’s first simulation software based on physics-driven tissue typing. This is the fifth generation of the Portrait 3D product and a major breakthrough in the surgical simulation and imaging industries.

“I just wanted to thank Dr. Hurwitz for making me feel like a real person again. Back in 2004, I had the lapband procedure done to help me lose all the weight that I had gained from having kids. After 4 years, I lost 70 pounds, but still didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I had a lot of hanging skin and drooping, large breasts. I would gain the weight, then lose the weight. It was an ongoing battle. I saw Dr. Hurwitz on the Discovery Channel discussing the total body lift. I knew I didn’t need that, but needed help. I met with Dr. Hurwitz. He agreed that I should have a breast reduction, liposuction and an abdominoplasty. February 6, 2009 was the day that Dr. Hurwitz gave me the body that I was wishing for. He’s a very talented doctor.
