Rhinoplasty - Nose Job
Out of all the facial procedures we perform at our Pittsburgh office, the nose job can produce some of the most dramatic results in a patient. A nose job, medically referred to as a rhinoplasty, is used to change the size, shape, or overall appearance of the nose. As one of the most common cosmetic procedures, a nose job can be used to alter the size of the nose and the shape of its bridge, tip, and nostrils. We also employ rhinoplasty at our Pittsburgh office to correct limitations in breathing. An improved nasal appearance, leads to greater confidence and self-esteem.*
Blepharoplasty - Eyelid Surgery
As we age, wrinkles, redundant skin and fat pads develop around the eyes, making us appear tired or perhaps older than we really feel. Dr. Hurwitz of the Pittsburgh area has the solution for you. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a procedure that removes excess skin, fat, and tissue from the upper and lower eyelids. The results of eyelid surgery can include less puffiness, wrinkles, and sagging around the eyes. Performed at our Pittsburgh certified operating room under the anesthesia of your choice, eyelid surgery offers you a younger, fresher appearance. It is often performed in conjunction with other facial procedures such as facelift or browlift.*
Chin Implant Surgery
As performed at our Pittsburgh practice, chin surgery and chin implant techniques are used to modify the shape of the chin. The chin is one of the major defining features of the face. Minor adjustments to this area can have a powerfully dramatic effect on the countenance. The most common chin procedure performed at our practice in Pittsburgh is chin implant surgery. During chin implant surgery, the incision will be made either inside the lower lip or under the chin. A custom ordered chin implant is then precisely positioned on the chin bone and secured in place. Silicone rubber implants are commonly used. For more extensive augmentations, Dr. Hurwitz prefers the porous Medpore polyethylene implants.
As we age, we often see aged sunken eyebrows and deep forehead furrows. Traditionally, endoscopic-assisted or coronal (open) browlift surgery is performed to raise eyebrows and smooth forehead skin through incisions near the hairline. In recent years, Dr. Hurwitz more commonly uses a limited lateral browlift hairline procedure with his original Quill barbed suture suspension technique. The incisions are inconspicuous and the recovery is typically much quicker and less risky than in the traditional techniques. The new attractively arched and slightly raised eye brows are often long lasting. Limited lateral browlifts can combat the effects of time, sun and stress, to leave a younger and more refreshed appearance.*
